NEW YORK SPA GUIDE 2019: 10 amazing day spas!

New York is always a good idea - especially when it comes to spas right? Well, no! It's taken us some time to discover which day spas deliver quality results.  These are some of our favorites so far (we hope we have many more good ones to discover)....

BEST APOTHECARY SPA

One of the best apothecary spas is Naturopathica Chelsea where they mix it up with plant-based skincare, herbal concoctions, tonics, and treatments. Knowledgeable staff guide you through the range of skin remedies as you sample elixirs from a Vitality Bar. We love their herbal dispensary and menu of sound bath meditations, aromatherapy workshops and healing facials. Their Alpine Arnica Deep Tissue Massage looks rather tempting too!  https://www.naturopathica.com

FACE GYM NOW IN NEW YORK

We're  obsessed about this 'book your facial workout' Face Gym brand located at Saks on Fifth and in NoHo. Originating from London, Face Gym offers menu of treatments focused on lifting and sculpting the 40+ facial muscles in our skin.  Try a 40-minute Yoga Facial with lymphatic drainage, or a 55-minute Party Facial.  You can also pick up lots of cool home-devices here to continue your facial workout at home. https://www.facegym.com

NEW YORK'S BEST BATH HOUSES

Who hasn’t heard of the traditional Russian Bath House in the East Village? While it's not for everyone, some will appreciate its authenticity. At the other end of the scale, Great Jones Spa houses a Water Lounge with hot and cold hydrotherapy, steam, sauna and juice bar. When it comes to super luxe though, Aire Ancient in Tribeca offer an entire floor dedicated to bathing experiences, steam and saunas - it's divine. Bathing is good for the soul.

A SPA WITH A HEALING VIBE

We were invited to experience a healing reiki treatment at Floating Lotus a few years ago and have been coming back for regular soul-saving acupuncture with owner Joel ever since. Situated near Columbus Circle, this 'relaxation station' has a slight hippy vibe and is nicely affordable too. Offerings include holistic massages, floatation therapy, infrared sauna and salt caves.  Check their schedule for daily yoga and weekend yoga workshops. http://floatinglotus.com

INFRARED SAUNAS AT HIGHER DOSE

When you need a quick detox or an instant glow, then look for a Higher Dose spa. They are the masters of the Infrared Sauna and have been high on our radar for sometime now. Regular sessions in an Infrared Sauna are said to improve our immune system, ease pain, and boost circulation, collagen and vitality.
